Quick answer
The price of Rejuran, Profhilo or Sculptra in Malaysia depends on the product, how many vials or syringes the plan needs, how many sessions, which areas, whether the product is registered, and who injects. Rejuran is a polynucleotide skinbooster, Profhilo a hybrid hyaluronic acid skinbooster and Sculptra a poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator, so the three are not like for like.
This page gives no price list, because a number without its vials, sessions and areas cannot be compared with another number. It shows what published studies used and what a quote should state. The generic fee logic is in skin booster price in Malaysia and biostimulator price in Malaysia.
What are Rejuran, Profhilo and Sculptra?
Each name is a brand, and each belongs to a different kind of product. Rejuran is a skinbooster made of polynucleotides, which are chains of DNA fragments, injected into the skin to improve its quality. Profhilo is a skinbooster made of hyaluronic acid in a hybrid form, with long and short chains bound by heat rather than a chemical crosslinker. Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) biostimulator, which prompts the skin to build collagen over weeks rather than adding volume on the day.
The differences matter for price, because a polynucleotide, a hyaluronic acid gel and a biostimulator are used in different amounts and at different intervals. Polynucleotide boosters compared and NCTF, Profhilo and Skinvive set out what is in each product. Trials describe specific products, so this page does not claim that a result for one brand applies to another.
How many sessions and vials did the trials use?
For polynucleotides, a trial of 27 people used three injections two weeks apart around the eyes, and an expert consensus set the facial protocol at 2 mL per session, one session every 14 or 21 days, for three sessions in normal skin and four in advanced ageing. The consensus is expert opinion, and the company that holds the patents and makes the products supported the board's costs and will fund its publication.
For hybrid hyaluronic acid, a case series of the newer Profhilo Structura used two injections of 2 mL per side of the face in 22 volunteers, and two authors work for the manufacturer. For poly-L-lactic acid, a randomised trial of 331 adults allowed up to three treatments four weeks apart. Each vial held 246 mg in 5 mL of saline, and the average injection volume was about 6.9 mL per side. A course can therefore use several vials, which is why a price per vial alone says little.
How long do the effects of Rejuran, Profhilo and Sculptra last?
Trials followed the three for very different times, so the figures are not a ranking. In the polynucleotide eye-area trial the improvement rates for elasticity and hydration fell over time on both sides, with a higher rate on the polynucleotide side. The abstract does not give a long follow-up. In the Profhilo Structura case series the increase in soft tissue thickness persisted across 6 months.
Poly-L-lactic acid has the longest follow-up. In the 331-person trial the volume scale response was still 84.91% at 12 months against 46.98% for hyaluronic acid. A 3-year study of Sculptra found correction maintained for up to three years with additional sessions, and for at least one year after the last session in a subset. So the honest answer to how long Sculptra lasts is that it is followed for one to three years, and varies by person.
What are the risks of Rejuran, Profhilo and Sculptra?
All three are injections, so bruising, swelling and tenderness are expected, and the studies read here reported mostly mild effects. The polynucleotide eye-area trial reported no serious adverse events. In the 331-person poly-L-lactic acid trial, injection site reactions were slightly more frequent than with hyaluronic acid and resolved within 1 to 3 days. The 3-year Sculptra study called complications rare, and the example it gave was a small papule, a firm bump under the skin.
The biostimulator has one risk that a skinbooster does not: lumps that can appear weeks later. Biostimulator side effects, nodules and delayed lumps explains the signs and what happens next. How the product is diluted and how many sessions are planned affect that risk, which is another reason to ask who is injecting and with what plan.
What decides a Rejuran, Profhilo or Sculptra quote in Malaysia?
Six things decide it, and a clear quote states each one. First, the product itself, since a polynucleotide, a hybrid hyaluronic acid and a biostimulator are different materials. Second, the amount, in vials or syringes and in millilitres. Third, the number of sessions and the gap between them. Fourth, the areas, because the face, the eye area and the neck use different volumes. Fifth, whether the product is registered and in its original packaging. Sixth, the doctor's assessment and who injects.
To compare two quotes, ask for the same details from both: what is in each syringe or vial, how many the plan uses, how many sessions, what is included at review, and whether the product is shown to you sealed. Two prices that differ only in the number of vials are not a price difference at all.
How do I check Rejuran, Profhilo or Sculptra is registered in Malaysia?
Ask to see the box, then search the brand name or registration number on the Medical Device Authority (MDA) register at mdar.mda.gov.my. The register lets anyone search by registration number, establishment name or brand name and filter by Active or Expired, and the page states that a device that does not appear is unregistered, expired, suspended or cancelled. The page read for this article showed data updated on 20 October 2026.
Products sold as medicines sit on a different register. How to check the product, not just the doctor explains which register applies. A listing shows a product is on a register. It does not show that the box in front of you is genuine or that the product suits your skin.
Who offers skinboosters and biostimulators at The Retreat Clinic in Setia Alam?
The Retreat Clinic offers skinboosters, including polynucleotides, and two types of biostimulator, and Dr Ong performs the injections after assessing the skin. A fee depends on the plan made at that assessment, so it is not given as a figure here.
