What does OndaPro do?
OndaPro (also typed Onda Pro) is a non-invasive microwave device for localised fat, cellulite and skin tightening. It is the newer machine in the Onda Coolwaves family, and OndaPro vs Onda Coolwaves sets out what changed. A 2024 advisory board paper on the Coolwaves device describes 2.45 GHz microwaves that heat fat cells selectively while contact cooling protects the skin surface. The stressed fat cells release lipid droplets and rupture, and white cells clear the debris over the following weeks.
Two handpieces carry the heat to different depths. The shallow one focuses it at 0.7 cm and is used for skin tightening and superficial cellulite. The deep one focuses it at 1.2 cm and is used for localised fat. The fuller account is in where the fat actually goes. What do studies report on fat reduction?
Studies measure centimetres around the area and thickness of a fold of fat, not kilograms on a scale. In a pilot of 12 volunteers described in the advisory paper, the median abdominal circumference fell by 3.90 cm four weeks after the last session, and the range ran from 1.5 to 7 cm. In 19 adults with visible abdominal fat and three sessions four weeks apart, the abdominal circumference was 3.80 cm lower on average at three months. That study left out people with obesity, fat spread over the whole body or irreversibly lax skin.
In 53 overweight adults treated at days 0, 20 and 40, fat thickness in four abdominal areas and the waist circumference were lower by day 60. Under the chin, in 48 adults who had six 10-minute sessions two weeks apart, the clinician fat score fell from 3.4 to 1.7 and the laxity score from 3.7 to 2.4 at 12 weeks.
Read these as small, short studies with different designs. A median is the middle person, and the pilot ranged from 1.5 to 7 cm, so some people changed several times more than others. How long do OndaPro results last?
The longest follow-up that still stands is nine months. In a retrospective series of seven women who had three to eight abdominal sessions 20 to 45 days apart, the average abdominal circumference had fallen from 94.43 cm to 81.71 cm at nine months, the upper skinfold from 29.57 to 20.57 mm and the lower from 34.57 to 21.86 mm. Average weight was also lower, from 71.45 kg to 63.70 kg, and BMI from 29.65 to 25.83. Those changes were not statistically significant, but they point the same way, and with seven women the series cannot separate the effect of the device from the effect of weight. The authors, two of whom are employed by the manufacturer's group, wrote that the reduction looks long-lasting if there is no significant weight gain.
A one-year follow-up study was published in 2023 and is cited in the advisory paper. It is not counted here. The journal retracted it in January 2026, giving an insufficient peer review process and a research protocol that was not submitted to an ethics committee as the reasons, and the authors disagreed with the decision. The advisory paper itself says long-term efficacy and safety data are still missing.
So the answer is nine months, in a handful of women, with a weight that did not change significantly, and nothing firmer beyond that.
What keeps the result?
A stable weight is the condition the authors name. The nine-month authors explain that a change in weight is mainly a change in the volume of fat cells, not their number, and take a reduction in the treated area with little significant change in weight as a sign that the number of fat cells there has fallen. That is their interpretation, from a small series. The clinic's own account is that the cleared cells do not return, and that the cells which remain can enlarge if overall weight rises, which is why the result holds on a stable weight.
The advisory paper adds that the ideal patient should not be obese, and recommends a healthy diet and moderate activity around the course. OndaPro is not a weight loss treatment explains why a larger overall weight changes the question.
What decides the fee for OndaPro in Malaysia?
There is no flat figure to give, and none is given here. The fee reflects how much work the plan involves, and these are the pieces that change it. The number and size of the areas: the advisory paper plans around an area of about 500 cm2, two squares of 15 by 15 cm, so a larger area or a second area takes more of the visit. The handpiece the fat layer needs, shallow or deep, which depends on how thick and how firm the fat is. In the nine-month series a fold thicker than 2 cm and thinner than 5.5 cm defined suitability. The number of sessions: the advisory paper averages four, the studies used between three and eight, and the clinic's usual range is three to five about a month apart. The length of each visit, which the clinic puts at thirty to ninety minutes depending on the area. And the assessment, which decides whether the device is the right tool at all.
Assessment comes first for that reason. A number given before anyone has looked at the area cannot reflect any of the pieces above, so it describes some other treatment. Who should not have OndaPro?

How does OndaPro compare with weight-loss medicine?
They do different jobs. The article on slimming, weight loss and body contouring separates three of them: weight loss lowers the total amount of body fat and is a medical question, which is the territory of medical weight management, while body contouring reshapes a small pocket of fat in someone already near their target weight. The Onda studies measure centimetres, one of them left out people with obesity, and the advisory paper says the ideal patient should not be obese.
That sets the order. Where weight is still changing, a tape measure around the waist records the device and the weight together and cannot tell them apart. The sensible question about OndaPro comes after weight has settled, if one pocket remains.
The honest complication
The evidence is thinner than the confidence of a brochure. The studies are small, their protocols differ, most follow people for weeks to a few months, the longest that still stands is nine months in seven women, and several authors are employed by the manufacturer's group. A one-year study has been withdrawn from the record. A planned course is a reasonable estimate made by a doctor who has looked at the area, and the result it gives is held by a weight that stays steady.
